The reaction aA + bB <---> cC + dD
- The state of equilibrium will be reached when the forward reaction rate (to right) =speed of reaction to the left.
- At first the speed of reaction to the right and then after a long time is reduced while the speed of reaction to the left at first small and then become larger and at a certain moment the forward reaction rate equal to the speed of reaction to the left.
- After equilibrium is reached the reaction does not stop, but must continue to take place in two opposite directions with equal velocity.
