concentration
is a quantity that express the quantitative relationship between the solute and solvent.
Units of concentration
a. Molarity (M)
is the number of moles of solute in 1 liter of solution
concentration
b. Normality (N)
is the number of equivalents of solute in 1 liter of solution
c. Molality (m)
is the number of moles of solute in 1000 grams of solvent
concentration
d. Percentage (%) in the mass and volume
is the number of grams of solute per 100 grams of solution
e. Mole fraction (%)
is the mole ratio of substances in solution on the number of moles of all substances in solution
f. Parts per million (ppm / ppm)
concentration
expressed in parts by weight per million parts.
