Aluminium (Al)

Aluminium (Al)
Aluminium is the third largest element on earth after oxygen and silicon. Aluminium is present in nature as bauxite ore, granite, and clay. Aluminium manufacturing process known as the Hall. In this process the bauxite ore is processed in two stages, namely refining and electrolysis.

The properties of aluminium: reactive, strong conductor properties, are amphoteric (can react with acids or bases), protects the metal from oxidation.

The use of aluminium:
a. Used as material for kitchen appliances, such as pan, spoon, and so forth, because aluminium is a metal that is non-toxic, soft, shiny, and inexpensive.
b. To create a utility pole wires.
c. For container packing biscuits, cigarettes, and candy.
d. Often used with other metals to make a mixture that is strong and lightweight.
e. Thermite reaction (a mixture of Al and Fe2O3) is used to weld steel, for example, to weld train tracks.
f. As the reducing agent oxides.
