Soil contamination can occur in three ways, namely:
A. Pollution directly
Occurs when:
- Excessive use of fertilizers
- Excessive use of pesticides and insecticides

B. Soil contamination by air
If the polluted air pollutants from the air, it will be absorbed by the soil with rain water. As a result, the organism lives will be disrupted.
