Fertilizer is a substance added to the plant to develop properly. Fertilizer can be made from organic and non organic materials.
Fertilizers can be divided into two, namely:
a. natural fertilizer
b. artificial fertilizers
Composition of nutrients in fertilizers are specific to a particular type of fertilizer.
a. Fertilizer N
Used to stimulate the growth of stem, branches, and leaves. Example: urea fertilizer
b. Fertilizer P
Used to stimulate new root growth, accelerate the formation of flowers, seeds, and fruit. Example: TSP
c. Fertilizer K
To form a protein and carbohydrates as well as strengthen the plants. Example: ZK-90 and ZK-96
d. Fertilizers with more than one nutrient
Example: NP, NK, KP, and NPK.
