Esters are compounds of carbon carboxylic acid derivatives, if the H atom of the functional group C = O - OH substituted with alkyl groups.
Ester represented by general formula: R - C = O - OR '
Isomerasi the ester is determined by:
a. Chain C in acid or its alkyl
b. Its branches
In addition to the ester isomers with one another, ester isomers are also functional with a carboxylic acid.
Preparation of esters:
1. Reacting a carboxylic acid with alcohol (esterification fisher) under acidic conditions.
2. Reaction of silver carboxylate with an alkyl halide.
3. Alkanoat reacting the acid anhydride with alcohol.
4. Alkanoat reacting a halogen acid with alcohol.
