Methanal is a first rate series homoloh aldehyde, at room temperature a colorless odorless gaseous stimulating. 40% methanal solution in water is traded under the name of formalin. Formalin is used to preserve anatomical objects.
Methanal widely used as raw material for the manufacture of dyes, plastics, and others.
